I wanted to take St. Johns Wort, but it interacts with my birth control (which I learned here). I don't want to take a prescription anti-depressant, because I am already on medication for adult ADD, and I dont want to be completely drugged up all day. Is there any herbal supplement that is similar to St. John's Wort without all the side effects?

st john's is the herbal alternative, however, if you find an other one, it probably wont work either. Just get the scrip or try therapy for the time being (it works great)

Anything that affects your mood will have side effects. There really isnt an alternative. StJohns is the herbal.

being that you are on medication you shouldn't take herbal supplements due to the fact that they may counteract each other.ask your doctor before taking any kind of supplement
