I've looked up and read many studies on this subject matter. Going through a divorce and with 2 small kids. I needed to know the likely hood of long-term affects. Most people are looking for a yes or a no answer. The truth is the likelihood is very high. So is the likelihood of kids of divorced parents witnessing another divorce with one of the parents. That would make matters worse in the future. All the studies don't point out to a yes or a no answer but point out that ALL children of divorce harbor some form of pain. One answer here said that they would never put their kids through what they went through. Why? Because it was painful. So to answer your question of a "higher likelihood", then the answer is yes.

the only reason most people divorce is they are no longer compatible. You have to always put everything into your relationship. If you find out later down the road you aren't compatible anymore well divorce and marry until you find the right person for you.

Depends. Some kids will hate their parents and do the exact same thing to their spouses because they want to get back at them later in life.

Some will make the decision for themselves that it wasn't their fault and will live normally in a healthy relationship.

Some will rebel and do everything that their parents didn't do and that can lead to a positive or negative change, depending on them.

I dont think so. Dont listen to statistics, people who fall into that are the numbers. Just dont worry about any of that, do you know how much of that is coincidence that people break up or divorce just because there parents did good lord

No. It only depends on the relationship they have with their spouses, and not depend on whether or not their parents are divorced.

No actually I have heard that it is more likely to work out for them. however I have also heard that children that have two families tend to be better off.

It's probable I'm sure, but at least then they'll be able to understand why their parents had to do what they did.
