Gays are Pedophiles and Pedophiles are Gays right?

Most Pedophiles are gays, they just like people under the age of 16 right? Why are people so accepting of gays then?

I read that PER CAPITA, homosexuals are more guilty of pedophilia than heterosexuals are.

Look at the scandal involving sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests. The vast majority of it involved BOYS -- and not young boys, but mostly older postpubescent boys.

Which means that media reports of it being a "pedophile" scandal were not entirely accurate.

It wouldn't have been PC to call it a "homosexual crisis" in the Church -- but that's exactly what it was!

The Definition of Pedophilia:
The American Psychiatric Association in its main diagnostic manual, the DSM-IV TR, defines a pedophile as somebody who “over a period of six months, [has] recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges or behaviors involving sexually activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally age 13 or younger)”. It further states that the person has either acted on these urges or as a result of the urges has experienced marked distress or interpersonal difficulty. In other words, the pedophile may have acted upon the urges but did not necessarily do so. Pedophiles are predominately male and the abuse is towards young girls and boys, most pedophiles are married and have children of there own and do not act upon these urges with their own children. Pedophiles are not homosexuals although some may be. Most pedophiles are heterosexual males who live a "normal" life unbeknown to their family or friends.

So "NO" gays are not pedophiles, the majority are heterosexual perverted deviants and Gays should not be put in that category.

Being a homosexual has NOTHING to do with being a pedophile. Look at the holy men in the churches - they are often the worst offenders! Pedophilia is a form of paraphilias, and this refers to sexual behaviour rather than sexual orientation. Pedophiles can be heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual.

Unfortunately, there is a misconception that people become gay as a result of being abused in childhood. This is probably why some people think there is a link between homosexuality and pedophilia.

No they are two different things but they are in the same "weird" family. It is like AIDS and Cancer. They are both diseases but they are different to each other. Being gay and being pedophile are diseases too. Like the mutants in Xmen 3, being gay and pedophile is a sickness but too bad there is no cure. You are confusing two issues here - understandably but oh so incorrectly.

Paedophiles are "lovers of children" - from the Greek. The gender of the poor child being abused is irrelevant. One does not get straight paedophiles and gay paedophiles, merely paedophiles. This is because they are only really interested in pre-pubescents, whose anatomy differ only in the sex organs but not in general appearance.

Gays are attracted to the same sex. There is no dictat in the definition of gays that in order to be attracted to the same sex the Gay must also fancy children.

Thus you have it Gays are not Paedophiles and Paedophiles are not gay.
