I had a lot of rude people tell me that my boys were "too pretty" or that blue eyes were "wasted on a boy".
You can't stop people from being rude!! I used to just stare at them and say something like, "EXCUSE ME?!!" Maybe it stopped them from doing it to the next mother and baby...

My son was always mistaken for a little girl when he was a baby. Even though he was dressed in boy clothes. He had a small narrow face with long curly hair that I always had to put in a ponytail...And yes it use to drive me crazy.. everywhere I go it was like look at the pretty little girl and I had to keep saying no my baby is a boy. This went one until he was three years old when he started school and I had to cut his hair.

Goodness YES!!! Me and my husband have a year old baby boy. He has the most beautiful head of curly blonde hair you have ever seen. I dress him in blues and reds and stuff like that and you wouldn't believe the people that ask me about my little "girl". Even when I politely correct them and tell them that "shes" a "HE", they still continue to say, "What a beautiful little girl you have." Drives us crazy!!! I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I feel like getting him a shirt that says I'm a Boy or something... LOL

Both of my boys were mistaken for girls during their early infancies. I just took it as a compliment that they were such beautiful babies, they could have been girls! Normally when someone would say, "Oh, isn't she precious?!" I'd say, "Yes, he is an especially beautiful baby, isn't he?" Or if someone said, "She's so cute...what's her name?" I'd reply with, "Jacob." LOL People were generally very embarrased and apologized profusely. Even though you have a girl, you gave birth to her and you KNOW she's a girl, some people just have a really hard time telling the difference between the sexes...As for wearing pink and still calling her a boy...OMG...dumb people! LOL

Yep, people assume my daughter is a boy- even when she's wearing pink, or dresses, etc. and she has long hair for a baby. I usually just smile and correct them. I look at it this way- there have been times when I couldn't tell the sex of someone else's baby, so I just let it slide. My advice- if you can't tell the sex of the baby ask what their name is- that usually gives it away.

People can be real boneheads sometimes!! My son was dressed in blue from head to toe and some lady told me "what a pretty little girl I had". I just laughed!! I try to avoid the situation if I don't know by asking "how old is your baby/child" and "what is their name" types of questions to get a clue - so that I don't stick my foot in my mouth!!!

Sometimes a little girl baby takes over a year to develop a head of hair. Once she does it's apt to be curly. Before hair grows on her head, some people make the mistake of calling her a boy.

It happened allot when my daughter was a small baby. People would say "my what a cute little boy:" and I just smiled and said "thank you ".She was and is very feminine but what the heck it didn't really matter to me, I knew. I have always said " oh what a pretty baby, never adding what gender I thought it was ....Its far easier ,that way no ones offended.

It happens all the time, that's why people ususlly ask if it's a boy or girl. Of course the pink should have been a big clue, but some people are pretty clueless. It's not somnething I would dwell on.

Yes, my son was always mistaken for a girl even though he had on boys clothes. He was mistaken for a girl because he had a head full of hair, it use to get on my nerves. But I would tell them look at the clothes and what does that tell you.
