I finished the 21 days on the pill, and me and my husband decided that its time to go of the pill. After the intial normal witdrawel bleeding we engaged in alot of unprotected sex. Its been 11 days since the first time, however after that i've been feeling quite weird. Bloated, nausea, and period cramps. I know this might be attributable to going of the pill. But i just noticed a bloody discharge after having sex. I couldnt be pregnant - could i????

I'm not clear on the timing you are describing...

I first read it as you have been off the Pill for 11 days. In that case, it would be impossible for you to be pregnant. But on rereading it, I'm not sure that that *is* what you are saying.

So...instead of trying to answer your question, I will try to give you information that will help *you* answer it for yourself.

Once you are/were no longer infertile from the Pill (and this can be almost immediate or take up to a full year), it will take at least a week (and usually 2) for your body to get all the hormones working so that you can ovulate. You can *only* conceive when you ovulate, although the sperm can live in your body for up to 3-5 days until ovulation. Once the egg is fertilized, it takes at least about a week for the fertilized egg to make it to the uterus to start implanting. Before implantation, there is no way for you to have any physical signs of pregnancy because the fertilized egg is not attached to your body in any way.

So...if you've took your last Pill less than 3 weeks, there is no way that you could be pregnant. If it's been less than 4 weeks, it is highly unlikely.

The fastest way to get pregnant is to chart your fertility signs. Please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler for details on how to do this. But keep in mind that you may *not* be fertile for a number of months...

Good luck!!

Pregnancy symptoms for alot of women can be the same as PMS symptoms. Nausea, headache, breast tenderness, fatiuge, ect.....Some women experiance cramping, like they are getting their period, while others have no cramps. Just as some women do spot a little in early pregnancy, and others will never see any pink or red. If you spot, that is normal. It is not normal when the spotting turns to heavy bleeding with bad cramps. If this happens, you need to go to the doctor asap. Remember, every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. Meaning, some women may have symptoms from the time of conception, to delivery, while others may have none or only a few.

If you think you are Pregnant, I would suggest a First Response. That pregnancy test can detect the lowest amount of HCG (the pregnancy hormone) in a womans body, and you can take it 4 days before your missed period. If you get a negitive wait a few days and retest, this is because the HCG levels double every 48 hours resulting in a positive pregnancy test. GOOD LUCK!!! :)

Well it could be anything or it could be nothing. I would take a pregnancy test just to see. And as always go to the doctor to make sure that everything is okay. It always amazes me that people who don't want to get pregnant when getting off the pill hit it right and away and the rest who really want to have to try a little longer. Any way good luck. Also remember to relax and let nature take its course.

The pill takes time to clear out of your system. If you are unsure, there is always the test. I have used it twice in my life. Once in the doctors and an early pregnancy test from the grocery store. When in doubt test. That way you can put your thoughts on to other things. Your gynocologist is your best answer. They have been in the business for along time and heard it all. I appreciate all the advice I have been given.

If the last day you took a pill was June 9th, then it could be that you ovulating but the thought of your ovulating and already feeling anything like you are pregnant is almost impossible. The average - and please it's only an average, and I don't fall into that average even... is that a woman ovulates on cd 14... but that can range from woman to woman. Personally I don't until cd 16. So I think you should wait at least another week.

It is a great possibility that you are. The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. Going off any type of birth control can increase your chance of getting pregnant especially if not using any type of protection at all.

wait for 5 more days then take home pregnancy test or a quantitative hcg blood test it is very accurate. if you have pregnancy symptoms you can do the tests right away because it means that the pregnancy hormone is present in your body. good luck
