I just bought a nice multifunction printer, that has auto-document feeder and faxing capability. However, I do not have a land-line (I rely only on my cell phone service). Is there a way to get my fax / scanner / printer to fax over the Internet?

The fax is just scanning the paper you want to send, converting it to an electronic form. The print or fax capability simply sends the now-electronic document to a printer, or a fax number, or, if you wish, to an address on the internet.

Easier still, just scan the document, and then send it as an e-mail to wherever you want it to go.

Yes.
It is all about being able to get a phone connection to a fax. Skype could do the trick.

scan the document and save as a file then e-mail the file.

Or if you are printing, sometimes the printer driver will have the option of saving as a .pdf file. You can then e-mail the pdf file.

Their are services that you can use to fax over the Internet but all of them cost money. www.efax.com, myfax.com are just two of over 30 i have seen.
