lol, a fast food question?? Okay. If the circumcision isn't religious, there's no real medical reason. However, if a boy/man is prone to infections under the foreskin, there could be medical justification for it at that point. Divorced parents of a 14-year old boy with this problem are fighting in court over who gets to decide whether or not to have the procedure. (The mom's for it, the dad's against. Men are such babies!)

There are some studies that have shown a lower chance of being infected by HIV if you are circumcised. Other than that there is a more likely problem of damaging some of the nerve endings that may make intercourse painful or make it difficult to obtain orgasm. It is rare, but some people have reconstructive surgery to undo the circumsion.
If you do not you need to learn slightly different hygine, and I don't think it is important for anything other than cultural reasons.

Well, it seems that it is what has become socially expected. For a man to not be circumsized it can be considered unatractive by some women. I personally think it is much better when they are circumsized but again it is primarily a cosmetic thing. It is also supposed to help with hygiene as the foreskin on uncircumsized members can get white, cheesy-like stuff under there and that freaks some out. Also i think it is said that it does have some health benefits.

Certain religions require it. There's also the issue of cleanliness, not just in childhood, and I also think I read something about increased cancer risk in women who have sex with uncircumcized men, but I'm not 100% sure of that. There are those who say it shouldn't be done routinely and that it is traumatic for the babies. This is one of those issues where there are good points being made on both sides and it comes down to a personal choice, unless, again, if it's a religious requirement.

Circumcision can be very detrimental for many reasons. Some doctors cut too much off! I know a few guys like that; really small, because of circumcision gone awry,
how sad!

I believe it has to do w/cleanliness. However if the parent is a good parent then they will clean the child appropriately. I believe that the best thing to do is NOT circumcise the boy. The foreskin is very important and it also protects the penis. (Besides it looks hideous w/o it)

No, i am against it. It's actually amputating part of their body, mutilating them. I think that god makes people how they are supposed to be and they don't need to be surgically altered. I think circumcision is harmful and causes a lot of sexual problems later in our society. I know it has a long history but i am not in favor of it. My son is 24 and uncircumcised and i'm very glad. My brother is 42 and very pissed at my parents for having him circumcised. He is very angry at having this part of his body cut off without his permission. Imagine the trauma to a tiny baby. And we wonder why men have problems in this world.

The major reason for circumcision is cleanliness, it's easier to keep clean. Some have it done for religious reasons.

Depends on your culture and religion. The vast majority prefer the procedure as it helps maintain a sanitary condition.
Is it important? Depends on the individual.
