Please do not include the guest vocalists that have plagued Carlos' recordings recently. I am referring to the full-time vocalists that graced the ranks of Santana when that was the name of one of the all-time great Classic Rock bands for thirty years prior to the
formula experiment that began with "Supernatural." (That album was good but not great. Any randomly selected previous album is better!)

No, Gregg Rolie did the majority of lead vocals on the first four albums. Greg Walker & Alex Ligertwood were the most prevalent of the later vocalists. Carlos has done very few lead vocals in his career.

Gregg Rolie, Leon Thomas, Leon Patillo, Greg Walker, Luther Rabb, Joel Badie, Alex Ligertwood, Buddy Miles, Tony Lindsay, Vorriece Cooper, and Curtis Salgado.
Let's face it, vocals were not a top priority for a band like Santana..how could they have survived for so long if it was. I'm gonna go with Rolie as my favorite (before he and Neal Schon exited to form Journey), since he did the vocals to all Santana's earlier material...which happened to be my favorite time period for them. After Rolie, the nod goes to Ligertwood...he had a couple songs I really liked, before Santana went to a more synthesized sound.

Without a doubt Sandy Denny in either Fairport Convention, Pentangle or Fotheringay. You might recall her singing with Led Zep on The Zep IV album, Battle Of Evermore, Outstanding vocalist and miles beyond stevie nicks or christine perfect/mcvie
