If the big killer asteroid ever hit. The one so big it killed all life. Destroyed all buildings and all record of human existance on planet Earth. In our solar system the only evidence of our existance would be a plaque on the moon. With the names of three astronauts and Richard Nixon.
Not Washington, not Genghis Khan, not Alexander the Great, not Ghandi, not Christ Not Alvin York, or Albert Einstein, not Louis Pasteur or Dimetri Mendeleev or Marie Curie or Watson and Crik, not Hemmingway or Shakespere, or Michaelangelo or DaVinci not Noah not Mohammad or Moses or Abraham, Not Gorbachev or Regan not Columbus or Magellan, not Oppenheimer or Von Braun, not even John Kennedy, the guy who pushed for the mission.
Just a few test piolots who went on the ride of their lives and the guy who happened to be president when the mission finally launched.
I may not lead a great life, and I may never be remembered, but I'm in good company.
Relax.

That most other people didn't do much with their lives and most of the US presidents are not only white yet British or close, this helps do away with the "no stoned left unturned" mindset. Oh, and that if Christianity/whatever similar all turns out I could possibly bargain not to go to hell or heaven, just have another life. Oh, and if it isn't true that the dead can wait forever, because when I has surgery once to me it lasted only a fraction of a second cus you're given this stuff that knocks you out cold, that's how I thought it out.

I try every day to do at least 2 good deeds for someone else. Maybe it's saying thanks or please. Maybe it's just smiling at someone or holding open the door for them. Helping people makes me feel good about myself and when I go to bed each night, I know that even if it's in an infinitely small way, I made the world a better place, even if only a smile at a time.

Well, the fact isn't all that obscure, but I think it still qualifies:
Lightning bugs staging an illumination extravaganza on a sultry summer evening. What a miracle. Makes me smile right now to just to think of it.

Be aware of a simple and recently discovered truth about the human mind, that nearly all people will always be somewhat happy. The cheerful or unfortunate events of our lives don't matter, in the long run. We will be just as happy in the long run.

When I'm having a bad day, I turn on the T.V. and watch Jerry Springer. That always makes me feel better about my own life. No matter how jacked up my life gets, it's never been "Springer" bad.

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change , The courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference" . No matter what life throws me every day I remember this quote . When really thought about its very true.

Being a smoker, but hoping to quit soon, I feel good knowing that obesity is now the number one killer in the USA. So light up and put that doughnut down.

That the canning process for food preservation was invented in 1801, and yet the can opener wasn't invented until 1875.
Ah humanity!
