Okay, I am just curious - If you get artificially inseminated ( where your purchase a vial of sperm and insert it into your vagina yourself ) and you are a virgin ( hymen intact ) can you actually get pregnant ? Does the sperm not go near the cervix or uterus because of the hymen??

Yes, the hymen is on the enterance to the vagina, so it doesn't keep sperm out. This is why it is not safe to have contact with sperm, even if you do not have sex. The sperm can make their way up the vaginal canal and virgins can become pregnant.

Here's the correct answer. If the hymen's still there, you won't get pregnant. The semen needs to go past the hymen to fertilize the egg. The only way to bypass it would be surgically implanting it into your uterus.

Hope this helped.
