I thought I saw something about it at the L.A. car show a couple years ago.

BMW is the decision maker for MINI - they own the brand. And MINI's are still manufacturered in England - not the US.

BMW hasn't focused too much on hybrids. They see the future in high efficiency diesels and hydrogen (long-term).

It's unlikely that we'll see a hybrid MINI for a long time - hopefully we'll get the diesel (MINI One D) that is sold else ware.

BMW merely handles US manufacturing of MINIs -they're separate companies. BMW won't be the decision maker on this issue.
