yes, I wrote a letter to Mario Lemiuex, and received an 8x10 autographed photo from him, what a shock to find waiting for me in the mailbox.
A lot of athletes, are willing signers, just make sure you include your name address, and a stamper self addressed envelope, always help, the big thing to remember is to be polite, always ask, please, and say thank you, then after you receive your autographed card back, remember to write a letter to the player thanking him or her for responding to your request, trust me those are the fans they remember, they ones that are always polite, and and always acknowledge the time they took to fulfill the request.

I am an avid Charles Barkley fan, in 1993 I ask for and got not only his autograph but it was personally addressed to me. I still have it and I'm looking at it on my computer room wall along with all my other Barkley memorabilia. I am from Scottsdale,AZ.. so we would see him some mornings driving his then young daughter to a private school,he would respond with a wave if you waved at him. He and his wife Maureen did a great deal for our local charities too.

I've written several athletes over the years. Do not send them baseball cards. They almost are never returned. Most atheletes will send you signed photos of themselves. If you pay $50.00 to them.
