The best scary movies are the psychologically scary ones, the ones that mess with your mind! Blood and gore, lunatics and homocidal clowns and dolls are not it.

If you want psychological, go for:
- The Butterfly Effect
- The Mothman Prophecies
- The Good Son

If you like ghosts:
- Ghost Ship
- The Others

If you want suspence, but entertaining:
- Flowers in the Attic
- Dark Harbor

And of course, if you're into vampires:
- Interview with a Vampire
- Queen of the Damned (although really, it kinda sucked)
- The Lost Boys
- Night Watch (that new Russian movie)

"Psycho" is a masterwork of suspense and horror. In my opinion, murderous psychos don't get any scarier than Norman Bates. The shower scene has some of the most terrifying footage in movie history. I doubt that I’m the only woman who hesitates to check into a motel alone since seeing the film. My favorite line: "A boy’s best friend is his mother."
