I feel that AVG anti-virus is more popular because of the simple reason: Its Free! Due to this factor majority of users recommend AVG, as compared to Norton & Mcafee. Do you think its unbiased & justified opinion. Moreover, don't you think that its frequent updating's is a marketing stradegy, to psychologically influence the users suffering from "virus- attack-syndrome".

I had AVG a few years ago,it was free, then I went to Norton,I thought it slow, and interfering with my e-mails,so I got rid of that one,but since i'm an aries I bought the 2006 Norton again, same thing and no great upgrades from the older one,I just threw that out and bought the Mcafee 3 disk set and think it is great for the same price, and this thing does stuff Norton and AVG only dream about.I put off getting Mcafee for along time cause I thought Norton was the best, was I wrong and now I'm biased for Mcafee, all the features it has work great, it's well worth the 39.95 I paid, thats by biased opinion. I don't think there is a big run on viruses out there but people do try to get into your open ports which you need to keep open in order to communicate with other computers.I have this one person who tries to get Dallas, and asia all the time, through a port I need open, but Mcafee gets them everytime, what gets me is they are from a town not to far from me.
I compare AVG and Norton to Yahoo antispy,ay least that gets a cookie or two now and then.

I would pick Norton if money was no object, but I think the main reason Norton is better is because of the money backing it. If it were free, it would not be as good.

I'd pick AVG Free over McAfee because McAfee is annoying from what little I've used it.

I run AVG Free now and don't see a big enough reason to shell out $50 plus yearly fees for Norton, but I do think Norton is the better product.

Norton is probably better, but it's been a couple years since I last got to try it.

While you may seem to consider AVG as good, I've used it in the past and it has a major bug: when you're affected by a virus, AVG takes a small time to react. During that time, the virus can still attack you and cause some (normally fatal) damage.

there are a range of of loose anti-virus downloads available AVG being between the more advantageous customary. It etc aren't any further as sturdy as Norton/McFee yet are literally sturdy adequate to save your pc secure. Norton is nicely time-honored for slowing your pc down,AVG etc does'nt use as a lot so pc no longer effected as a lot. i exploit AVG myself and function had no problems with viruses,so I even do not have any favor to regulate. yet i'm completely conscious there are more advantageous effective loose anti-virus downloads accessible, one is AVS from AOL it really is loose and boasts ninety 9% virus detection. human beings use Norton as typically that is put in on the computer,or salemen promote it to you insisting that is necessary. i purchased a pc 12mnths in the past and became offered Norton £fifty 9.ninety 9, when I were given homestead i got here across it became already put in on the computer and became loose for 1yr. I have purely offered a sparkling pc which back had Norton on it,i uninstalled it and positioned AVG on instead. each and every thing is right down to non-public opinion yet i actually imagine a loose Anti-virus which ever one human beings choose is more advantageous effective than figuring out to purchase one which does an identical element.

all money aside, i wouldn't use any of those programs. AVG is free for a reason, they don't have the support or updates of any paid software. don't get me wrong, they do update well and support their products, just not to the paid programs' level. Norton takes control of your computer to a degree that is sickening (i've had to fix many computers as a result of norton screwing up windows). i haven't personally had a reason to go for or against mcafee. of what i've seen it's been pretty annoying with pop ups. my personal suggestion would be Trend Micro products. current consumer desktop version is PC-Cillin 2006. it doesn't take up many resources, very accurate, not too expensive, and i haven't seen it cause any problems that couldn't be resolved with reinstalling and registering the software. you can also download a free trial from www.antivirus.com or even do a free scan of your computer online

AVG works for me. A real problem getting Norton's off my system when I had decided not to renew the software.

Plus AVG set out to help the broader community with a free to use version for home and this I support and congratulate them for.

The companies send out viruses so that people feel scared and buy their software. If you have an aol or comcast account you can get mcafee free. I'd say get mcafee if you can get it free. if not i guess stay with avg.

AVG is not only free but also simple.
I used it my friends also used it.
we are all pretty much satisfied with what we experienced using AVG.

Mcafee is also ok.

and about the last question...the whole world has been turned into
a place of business and in the case of virus there is not any exception.
