People say that you can try nasty tasting stuff on the nails or to pay a high priced salon to make them pretty and you wont want to bite them. These "solutions" dont work-I know I have been there. Nail biting tends to be a nervous reaction, a habit(like smoking or gambling). It takes more than a coat of paint or icky tasting stuff. Something is drawing you to bite them. Do you do it when your upset, bored, angry? Take a week or so and write down when you bite them-then you go from there.

You can get a special bad-tasting polish. It's clear. You can get it at any well-stocked drugstore.
Also, tell your friends/family that every time they see you bite your nails, for them to pinch/slap you. That gets rid of it fast!
Keep your nails super short so it'll be hard to bite them.
Get an expensive manicure and everytime you go to chew on your nails, remind yourself of the money you paid for the mani.
Always keep your hands busy. If you're sitting at a desk, drum on it with your fingers. Doodle on a piece of paper. Type on your computer.
Take these hints, and you'll come over the nail biting quickly!

I agree with the rest of the girls, get some nasty tasting nail polish that they have out there and if you still find yourself biting them just get some acrylics.

Many of my clients find that regular manicures help them to avoid putting them into their mouths. Why bite when you just paid to have them manicured nicely?
Also, as previously stated ,nail enhancements work wonders. I prefer to use the gels since they are light weight, unlike acrylic, and look natural.

Put bandages around all your fingers or use growth nailpolish. i used to bite my nails and my friend suggested Sally Hansen Maximum Growth nailpolish. It tasts nasty so you will want to stop the biting.

hot chilli ( such as Habanero, chiplotle, or chile piquin) seeds even the real chili rub it on your nails or around you nails so each time that you'll have the desire to bit your nails you'll taste a hot burn sensation in your tongue and you'll learn to don't bit your nails anymore, that helps a lot. try also garlic.
