what do you do when this person like gets on your nerves and you dont like it and the are trying to be better than you at some thing and you know that they are just showing off!!!!!

Ignore them. What they are trying to get from you is your attention. Negative attention is better than no attention at all in some peoples mind. as long as this person knows they are getting to you,they'll continue. Ignore them. Pretend this person doesn't exist. Trust me, this works. Good luck hun

I take it that they are jealous of me and want what I have so I can laugh at them everytime they try to be better or show off because they wind up looking like a fool.

I will quit hanging around them. Sometimes, they are not showing off but they are just envious of you and with lots of jealousy. You don't have to prove to them what you are made of or what you are capable of just to compete with them. They are only trying to be in your level by over doing and showing off. If this person is a family member just accept them and appreciate their effort and y'all know you are blood but if it's a friend, who is only jealous of you then you can cut that person of your life because their aim is to bring you down.

Personally, I just stay away from people like that and if it is unavoidable to be around them, then I ignore them.

Just try to forget them and dont try to compete just do what you have to do and be nice to that person (it'll make them mad :-)
