Not at all!
You can always have the last laugh because if you lose(in whatever)...you can slip away without anybody noticing
But, if you WIN....everybody looks at you like where did THAT guy come from and they wonder...and they think....and they get really careful not to let that happen again...and they become aware of you. You might not get the respect all of the time, but its much more rewarding.
If you're talking about with girls....its the same way. Girls are always more comfortable with quiet/shy guys because we don't give them BS lines that they have to struggle through. Which means, you can always "win" if you want to!

Yes, they "are last"...
So, start standing up for yourself, and speak up a bit, or be forever last at everything and go and live with your mother because your not going to get a girl to find as a wife if you dont learn to speak up for yourself!!!
Or, better yet, go attend a Church!! They will help you get out of your "shell". You will become involved with a lot of "nice" people, who will care for you, and you will get over your shyness and wonder why you ever were that way in the first place....
(Its how I got over mine!!!)...

I don't think so... from past experience, my shyness is what wins me friends and dates. I guess it depends on the person.
