No. there is no such thing as "Over Charging"
Battery chargers are of the "Voltage Source" type which means that as the battery voltage approaches the charger voltage the current (amps) fall to practically zero.
This is because the internal battery resistance rises as the battery is being charged.
Ohms Law states that
"Current is proportional to voltage and inversly proportional to resisistance" I=E/R
So as the internal battery resistance rises the current falls.....

prolly not, to check a battery, you use a "Hydrometer", a few $ at an auto store, you check ea. of the battery cells w/ it, if one cell has low numbers, that means it's "BAD" battery is no good !

No but you can boil the water/acid and will need to make sure it's topped up.
