When this all started North Korea agreed to trade out their graphite-moderated reactors with light-water reactor, and the us would provide them with an annual 500,000 tons of fuel to help meet the deficit until the plant was completed. They renigged on that agreement just a couple years after ground breaking, and reopened their old plants and waste and began enrichnig uranium for warheads.

considering that the country has comepletey disregarded all their commitments agreed upon at all the completed six (and three) party talks, which resulted in them increasingly strengthening their nuclear arms program, how do we trust these people?

If the US agrees to their demands, it would not only leave their neighbors open to attack (and environmental contamination), but they would carry on their devious way with full nuclear capabilities and no way of stupping them short of war.

So what do you think?

seriousy, if the general public could sit down and read this entire page, they would not be sitting around with their thumbs stuck up their butts wondering why we are trying to stop iran from gaining nuclear capabilities.

Theyre behaving and functioning the exact same way that North Korea has been for the past 20 some odd years.

And NOW look where thats landed us.

Its not the just US at risk here, the NK forks up this whole nuke thing the rest of the world sufferes from it as well.

their last test was a lie. They ended up sending a missile into japanese air space.

This country starves, kills, freezes and tortures its own people for the sake of building nukes, and you're saying its all just to blow smoke up our butts?

well i cant say but i don't think much about it, i think that maybe there I.C.B.M. missile technology is like 10-15 years less advanced than the U.S.A. or Russia, also there guidance systems are second rate based on 20 year old Russian technology, plus that much radiation can cause trajectory errors to develop over a short period of time, that and the S.D.I. helps me sleep better. as for how to deal with them, just let them do what there doing until they mess up, and ask for help to fix there mess, them go in and seize all there nukes.

here's the core of the issue.
Be it Korea or Iran they want some respect in the world,
US, Israel and part of European countries have Nukes and here comes North Korea and Iran saying I got nukes too...I am going to use this example which may not be the best one but think of this analogy, the movie "son-in-law" the lead actor Polly Shore complete idiot comes to a small town where the town has their own set of values and regards certain things as their customs and the family has their own status & finds Polly Shore as an embarrassment to be seen with him in the public...

same things here the countries who owned Nukes now see Iran and North Korea as the dirty scoundrels that can not and should not be on the same status as everyone else...

the question comes up what about India and Pakistan having Nukes........... and why they are not asked to dismantle them and not to produce anymore
well India is now seen as the high tech place and everything from US is getting outsourced there... so there's a mutual understanding and agreement that .. don't mess this up
Pakistan has been helping US with getting the bad guys in Afghanistan....with Pakistan its give a little to get some...
that's all

What can or needs to be about North Korea? treat them with respect see them eye to eye and come to an agreement rather than dictating what they need to agree to?

I think often we believe we are more invincible than we really are.

Make no mistake N Korea will not crumble as easy as Iraq or Afghanistan did, our government knows this and this is why we are careful.

Apparently the bush administration only likes to go to war against weaker nations.

North Korea may only be 1/3 the size of Vietnam, but Vietnam was
1/18 the size of the united states and we still lost!

N Korea has a military of roughly 1.2 million, I do believe it's mandatory there.

North Korea is Saber Rattling. They do this every couple of years, just like the communist Russians did. Give it a few weeks and it will all blow over. Besides, if they do threaten the US with a launch, a retailatory strike woudl mean the complete eradication of a country the size of New Jersey. They aren't dumb, and any tests would be directed toward open waters.
