3. Tattoos will often cause keloids. If you are keloid-prone, you should not get a tattoo. Keloids are bumpy growths on the skin, usually arising from scar tissue areas. They can be removed but often grow back as a bigger keloid.
4. Tattoos don't stay pretty. They smear and fade. This is because your body considers the dye a foreign object. It has nothing to do with the quality of the dye. Cells divide.
5. Talk to older people you see who have tattoos and ask them about it. I don't know if you consider psychology a health issue, but many folks end up wanting the tattoo removed later. When it looks ugly or when their lives change.

You can get all sorts of diseases and conditions if your tattoo artist does not use a sterilized needle.
