There are a number of reasons why some are better then others at math.

For higher leveled math, I think it's because some people have a better base, because they had a stronger understanding as a child.. This is why I believe we should develop the kids minds, even at a young age. Math is all about the basics, gotta be good at the basics, everything else pretty much refers to it and feeds off of it.

It could also be mindset.. Math has always come off to people as "the hard subject" I think some people get so intimidated, and nervous by math, that they nearly do as well.

Other then that.. I think it's pretty much like other subjects.. Some are just naturally better at the subject then others? Why? Who knows? More exposure? Different interests? Most likely.

Everyone has different strengths. Our minds just don't work all the same way. How boring would that be if we all thought alike!

If you're having trouble with math, or you know someone who is, they may need to work a little harder on it, or find a teacher who can use different teaching methods. A little creativity goes a long way in both teaching and learning.

Everything is even, nothing is hard, nothing is easy. Mathematics comes in simple and difficult forms. Complex math is for those who wish to know the Universe, simple math is for those who want to go shopping, and bring back the right change.
