i have been on many boards and have tried everything, and I am beginning to think that I will never be able to use quicktime again. I can neither completely uninstall it or install it. It is veru frustrating, and I think it may be compatability issues between microsoft and apple. this does not seem as though it would be that difficult but absolutely nothing works

What is the error message you get? Try downloading and installing iTunes (it comes with quicktime), then try to update quicktime to the professional version. There should not be a compatibility issue, unless you are trying to install Quicktime from a CD that was meant for Mac.
