What should I do? He was picking up his bank statements and clearly saw my email from a recruiter for a new position. He interviewed me along with my boss when i came on board 2 months ago. Should I care that he saw?

Nope, if you are dissatisfied about your job, he prolly knows already. It's one way to break it to him. Also, you have to remember that he might not care, or he might have noticed. he might have been thinking of something else.

Is he a "Company Man"? If so, he will be telling your boss, guaranteed. I am a Company Gal and I have "told" on co-workers that plan to leave with no notice, if it affects the company as a whole, if they leave their stuff (emails etc) laying around! The last girl who left my office, was making plans like 2 months in advance to leave us and never mentioned ONE WORD to us! Seeing as how her leaving dramatically changed MY position within the company, I sure did notify my boss...
As a matter of fact, I just told MY boss I am leaving today. AFTER making it quite clear that I was unhappy with my current position for the last couple months, and them not changing that, I am sure it wasn't a total surprize! But if you are recruiting, at least have the common decency to tell your boss you are unhappy and why (if it's a valid reason, or one they could work with you on). If you are BEING recruited, your boss needs to know that too!
If you are totally unfit for your current position, chances are your boss already knows it. They may not fight you're leaving, but you may screw yourself out of a good reference if you don't give notice.
PS - NEVER, EVER look for work at work!!! That is the number one reason to get FIRED!

Depends on the circumstances. If the the printer was at your job site, then legally (according to Judge Judy on T.V.) your manager could file a complaint about you using company resources for non-work activities. If the printer was at a college , Kinko's, or other public place you should not worry. If your boss asks , tell your boss that you want to improve your career skills and looking for career advances. Most manager enjoy employees that eager to improve themselves and hence the company.

If he has a problem with you wanting to better yourself and holds it against you, He is the one that should worry. A boss should never begrudge an employee for wanting to advance. Afterall, he probably sits on a hefty salary himself. I always wanted that when I was a boss. The farther they advanced the better it made me look because I hired and trained them. Says a lot about a boss when his people are good enough for it.
