Or do you think it's a hopeless cause that you can't have any affect on? Seems to me there is a lot of complaining, but nobody does anything to initiate change. I, for one, am trying to get the word out to anyone and everyone about a third party I believe strongly in - the Constitution Party - since both the right and left wing have pissed me off too many times. May not seem like much, but at least I'm trying.

That sounds really confrontational after reading it back to myself, but I'm just trying to get people to think about it, not to say I'm better than anyone else.

It is part of the duty of citizenship to communicate with our elected officials to give them our opinion. They may not take the advice (and they are doing for us as they consider proper) but sometimes maybe a constituent can provide information the official may need to help with a decision. I agree the system is hurting. The best answer for a third party (and I am interested in groups like the Constitution Party) is to start with some local elections and build from there. They don't have the juice to make it on the national stage yet, I fear.

get rid of Jeffersonian variety of authorities and pass to the parliamentary sort. In a parliamentary authorities this is way plenty a lot less complicated to modify replace governments or get rid of people who practice malfeasance. There at the instantaneous aren't any set limits on how lengthy a social gathering (activities) might want to be the authorities except that there is a optimal time even as an election might want to be talked about as. A parliamentary kit also facilitates minority activities to be an part of authorities. in a sensible choice of, many situations this has proved to be a blessing because the opt for for the smaller activities votes is often severe with a minority gov't.. This keeps a authorities trustworthy or they're going to be thrown out by dropping a vote of self assurance. A minority authorities fairly frequently finally leads to bigger effective regulation making.

What can one do to create change:
1. I vote. If we do not like the people in office, we need to vote them out. It is somewhat discouraging however to note how many people who are now upset about the present administration apparently did not have the sense to vote it out of office during the last general election. If you voted for this administration and are now unhappy about it, you really have to take responsibility for your participation in continuing this mess.
2. I stay informed, particularly through news outlets that are less contaminated by corporate interests than the mainstream media. Specifically, I like alternet.org.
3. I write my congressmen. I subscribe to a number of organizations that keep me informed on important votes coming up in the Senate and the House of Representatives... and when something matters to me, I write my congressmen and let them know how I feel about the issue and how I would like them to vote. Sometimes I think they use my letters to know how NOT to vote, but nonetheless, I am doing what I can to be involved in my government.

I am getting angrier by the minute. So, I am not just sitting idly by. I am actively engaged in being angry. For a third party, stick with the Libertarians. They are not perfect, but they stand for what they believe in, and they are truly grassroots.

Thomas Jefferson once said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Now is the time. It's time for another American Revolution.
Yes, everyone says, "Vote" if you want change, but all you end up doing is trading crooked Republicans for crooked Democrats. Because of the stranglehold these two parties have on our political system, a third party is virtually impossible to create and organize into any kind of sufficient power base.

There's only one way to keep gangrene from spreading in a gangreneous arm: amputate the diseased portion of the arm to keep any more tissue from dying.
There's only one way to keep corruption, incompetency, and avarice from spreading within our evil political system: kill it.
While you might find it to be a harsh solution, you have to recognize that our founding fathers went to war, and were willing to die, in order to form a "more perfect union" that was created "of the people, for the people, and by the people".
The sitting U.S. Congress is the most evil, corrupt, and incompetent body ever to occupy the Capitol Building. The Bush administration (particularly Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld) is the most evil, corrupt and incompetent group of bastards ever to occupy the White House.
Consider what Bush has done since 2000. He has:
1. Illegally and unconstitutionally invaded another sovereign country which in no way povoked, threatened or attacked the U.S.A. His only two reasons for the "war" with Iraq was 1) to 'get even' with Saddam Hussein for humiliating his daddy during Desert Storm, and 2) because Big Dick Cheney wants all that oil swimming underneath Iraq's sand;
2. Massacred tens of thousands of innocent Iraq elderly, women, and children for no justifiable reason;
3. Killed more than 2, 500 American soldiers;
4. Turned most other countries against us because they no have every reason to fear the U.S. They therefore consider nuclear weapons programs of their own with which to defend themselves against the globe's newest "evil empire': the U.S.A.;
5. Dismantled environmental laws designed to try and maintain our fragile ecology so that the Earth might be saved for future generation;
6. Tarnished our reputation as a world leader and global peacemaker;
7. Condoned the illegal incarceration of insignificant prisoners, and their rights under the Geneva Convention, allowing them to be tortured; beaten; physically, verbally, emotionally, and sexually abused; and sometimes even randomly murdered;
8. Neglected the needs of America's poor, elderly, sick, homeless, hungry, underprivileged, and disadvantaged while playing "Robin Hood in Reverse" by stealing from the poor and giving it all to his rich friends, lobbyists, special interest groups and big corporations who in turn make generous (if not illegal) contributions to help keep the GOP in power;
9. Turned America into a police state where citizens are presumed guilty until proven innocent;
10. Disregarded our system of law and order, including completely ignoring the U.S. Constitution.
Americans are weak, cowardly, and soft. We don't WANT to have to get up off our plush couches, put down the remote, and actually work up a sweat fighting for our personal rights and individual freedoms. Instead, we allow corrupt, evil politicians - working within the framework of an evil, corrupt legal framework they designed for their own benefit - to control us. It's time for America to go to war; it's time for "We the People....." to take back our country! -RKO-
P.S. Prediction: America will NOT WITHDRAW ANY TROOPS FROM IRAQ until Dick Cheney has a rock-solid, iron-clad arrangement in place to acquire all of Iraq's oil for his buddies at Halliburton, Bechtol and Exxon-Mobil so that they can get richer and richer and richer.
