I am in the same position. Maybe it's easier to operate the way you're used to.. because it's predictable and your expectations are fulfilled. For me, I'm just upset with how this place is set up, how others are being treated, etc (external things). If you really don't have a clue why you are feeling this way, it could seriously be something internal.. caused by genetics, or the long-term after-effects of drugs, if you've taken any. Maybe you have a history of this happening in your family. Maybe you haven't found something you love to do, maybe you are suffering from post-partum depression (after a traumatizing event). If you are lonely with all these people, it may be because you haven't found anyone else like you. Or even simpler, that you arent' getting the attention you feel you deserve. It is a really shitty thing, being alone. Ironically, you're not alone in feeling alone. It just seems that way. We create our own world.. maybe you need a quick drastic change to get a bigger change going. At least when you try new things you will either hate it or love it. The worst is feeling apathetic.. so if you hate things, then even that is better than not caring at all. Or, if you are like me, you might miss a better time in your life - like your childhood. in that case, maybe confront everything you miss about your past. I took up ballet, visited old schools, read my old diary, etc. everything I could to be in that life again. Accept that it was good.. and take it from there. You are young, I am 21.. we've got a lot ahead of us..
the one thing that worked the best for me.. sitting for a good long time thinking about what the world will be like after your own existence has passed. you may start to realize what really matters, and what never mattered.
best of luck, i hope you feel better about this situation soon.

It might be wise for you to make an appointment to speak with a counselor or therapist. There may be unresolved issues that you haven't yet dealth with that are effecting your mood.
Also, where depression exists with no causal event, depression is commonly understood to be a biochemical illness. Though you are doing many things right in your life, you may need some medicine to actually get clear of your depression.
Make the time now to schedule an appointment to talk to a qualified counselor, therapist, or even, at least, to your own doctor.

Just find an intersting hobby. If you live in a city or near a city, go out and do new and interesting things despite the risk. Also, if you think this is serious, tell your family and get help. I knew someone who was taking, such a simple thing as birth control which caused her to be moody and depressed. You are young, try and live.

It could very well be chemical in which case excercise will not help. I would visit ak trusted doctor and explain this to he/she. Medication may be required.
If it's not a chemical imbalance than look deeper..perhaps the things that you listed as being reasons to be happy are not really the key. We all need to be healthy mentally, emotionally, physically and spirtually. If one of those is missing we become off balance.
BE a good day.

Perhaps you should look within yourself to see why you are sad and depressed, as opposed to whats on the outside that may be influencing you. You may want to see a therapist, sometimes just talking to someone who is outside of your immediate situation is the best solution.

Sometimes depression or depression symptoms are caused by a chemical imbalance. (Sorry to sound like a commercial there!) It's worth going to see your doctor who can rule out anything biologically going on. Sometimes you need a little extra help.
Kudos for you for improving yourself! Good luck!!!!

are you happy with your life? If you are taking any medications, that can sometimes cause depression. working out can mentally calm you down but it can't stop depression. I'm going to sound like a idiot, but praying really helps. Honestly, it helped me.

Seems to me you are on the right track, give it a little time, change your routine, think of what "you" enjoy doing and do it take time for yourself and pray.
