Well, if a Spanish referee can give the Italians a win on a PK, can't an Italian referee do the same for the Spanish?

Yes, Spain deserved the penalty, it was a clear foul and would have been given outside the box so it had to be a penalty.

By rule, it is a penalty, like it or not. It's just unfortunate that it happened when it did. But blame the player from Spain who made the choice of going for a tackling play, rather than making a defensive play.

Yes. The player was stepped on from behind inside the penalty box. He went down because he couldnt lift his foot, not because he dived.
