In an interview I read once (following the release of WYWTB), Adam said the band had mixed up/ messed with the lyrics in both albums because they liked the idea of having them read as a story forcing the reader to interpret the lyrics in their own way.
And I guess they decided to to do the same with the third.

Usually, those little parts that are never flat out sang, are the ones that were meant to be or maybe are even hidden.
If you read the whole thing together, the lyrics are turned more into a story and you can actually understand what the songwriter/singer was feeling.
Sometimes they are meant to throw you off, other times they are just ther to go over what they are saying.
