1 thing: I don't wanna move! My dad got transferred out of state and now the entire family will have to move with him. But my heart is set here in Cali....all my friends are here, I have my future planned out here, my life is here! And the state we're moving in such a boringgg place....compared to Cali, it's like a junkyard with no such fun. How should I persuade my dad not to move? People, help me out here. Tell me the good things of moving so I can feel a lil' better about this. :(

Let's see, going to a place you've never been, making new friends, you can also "reinvent" yourself. Good luck.

Ugh, I know how you feel! I just recently moved this past summer, although I wasn't going out of state, it was still hard. I had my friends and everything I had ever known with me there, so I was pretty scared-I didn't want to move and I begged my dad to just turn off the new job. No matter how hard I tried it didn't work.

The good thing about moving is that you can be whoever you wanna be-nobody knows the mistakes or regrets you've got. This is your time to turn into something new. You get to meet new people who might change your life forever. You get to use the excuse, "I'm new here" b/c it comes with special benefits-such as getting to be the first at things and stuff. (Just don't overuse it.) Although you don't wanna move, hang in there. The state is boring? Make it fun, bring your traditions from Cali over there and show people that there is a such thing as fun. And most of all, good luck. Remember that this is a good change,
and if you ever feel alone, remember that you are not-because I have moved recently so I know how it feels. :)

where is this "junkyard with no such fun?" maybe if you told us we could give you some ideas about things to do. I know you arent going to convince your dad not to take the job but just talk to him about how you love cali and ask him if maybe you could visit every summer or over winter break.

Moving isn't what it used to be. You can communicate with your friends like never before. Yahoo, hotmail, myspace.. i could go on and on. I definitely would move... the idea of moving somewhere new .. meeting more people.. expanding your horizons..it's an adventure! I always say things happen for a reason so stop worrying about it and start packing!!
