I think more people know PC and if you need help, you may not be able to find someone to help you easily. Also it is hard to find software.

There really aren't any disadvantages. You will hear myths like there's not as much software available. This is silly, because what does it matter if there are 800 word processing applications out there, if you're just going to buy MS Word anyway? MS Office for the Mac is very good, and the file formats are exactly the same for the PC and the Mac, so working in a cross-platform environment is painless. Also, with the new BootCamp software, you can run Windows on your Mac. There is no reliable way to run Macintosh software on a PC. Of course, this will open your WinXP system up to the same viruses, trojans, spyware, etc., that any regular PC will be vulnerable to. The Mac side will not be harmed, however.

Less software works with it. And those software companies offer less support for Mac users- other than that, they ROCK!
I might also point out, they have recently released a version of Microsoft Office, especially for the Mac, with all the same (and some more!) features of the usual version, and it is totally geniune, made with Microsoft and all!
Dont listen to people who tell you there is "less support" from Apple than Microsoft. MS's customer support is almost non-existant, is very slow and extremely unreliable. Apple have several shops in the US and UK, where real people will help to solve your problems there and then.

there are a couple issues. for starters there usually isn't as much support available in case something breaks or doesn't work as it should. most LOCAL computer companies are geared towards PC's. the second and probably the biggest deciding factor for most people is software. macs are all about multimedia and editing the multimedia. if u are all about music and movies and making your own or even a career in graphic arts, then mac is the way to go. if you like (or need) to use applications that are made for the pc such as most video games, or software for educational purposes, your best bet is to go with a pc. to make this answer short: decided based on support and the software u need or want to use

You'll learn (as I did) that Apple comes out with a new OS every 2 years (they're worse than MS) and unless you have the "latest" OS with the latest processor your computer becomes obsolete very fast.
