If you try to download any program files using Limewire, i bet, most prolly it is going to be a virus. The good thing is that Limewire has an inbuilt virus detection capability that warns you before downloading a file in case it finds it quarantined. You could download music, games, movies, which are 99.99% safe!

While I am sure a number of people have, I haven't. One reason is I keep my anti-virus software up to date and always scan the file(s) before installing them. The other reason is that you should always check the file size before downloading the file, this will be an indication of whether or not it could be a virus. For example, Diskeeper version 9.0 is about a 25MB download. There are a number of files purporting themselves to be Diskeeper but a lot of them were 730KB or lower, those are viruses. It's also possible to hide a virus within a large download because it is so small. But if it is hidden or even if you do download it, usually you have to launch it manually by installing whatever you THINK you are getting. That's why it's always important to scan the files BEFORE you install them.
