how do I wear black without lookin goth?

Black does not equal goth. I think that is a common misconception and makes people shy away from such an awesome color.
Black is my favorite color and I wear it all the time. Its classy, and flattering on everyone its even slimming. Its all about what you wear how you wear it and how you accessorize.
For example, if you're wearing nice black dress pants (or skirt) with a black top, you can always wear a cute colored tank underneath, a little colored laced peaking out of your blouse or shirt can be sexy. You can also wear colored shoes and matching handbag, I love the color teal and black together, it looks awesome and its complementing. Gold is really in right now and it looks fab when you pair gold hoops and bracelet with a black outfit. You also can't go wrong with silver!
As other have said, you won't look goth unless you paint your face white and wear black lipstick! Don't be afraid to experiment with the color, you'll be surprised at how flexible, fun and sexy you can feel!

Ok this is definatly my department I am the it girl to go to to make black apart of your wardrobe if you have great legs show them off were a light jean skirt with a black top and black heals depending on where ur going is what the top depends on if ur going to a party allways go flashy show all the haters that u can still out do them no matter what if your going to a club like place make sure to wear ur make up a little lighter that usual wear a revealing black top and strappy heals allways go all out on the hair drastic and noticable and not too big if its some where casual you can try the ripped jeans medium color, pointy heals long tight fitting plane black t-shirt chokers are allways nice but make it not too stand out silver if thats what ur planning on wearing black and silver long beeded necklaces are allways nice and for the big finish the eyes a good way to make ur eyes and out fit stand out is to do the full dark black smokey eyes and long thick lashes well I hope it helped good luck

You can do that a couple ways. Stay away from the chains! =)
*add color along with the black
*maybe some colorful accessories like a white bracelet
*white looks crisp a hot with black (goths don't usually wear white)
*also.......do your makeup pretty, soft colors, not heavy eyeliner, that way you won't appear to look goth.

Black can be such a good color, it all has to do with how you wear it! =)

Go black without buckles and fishnet then you could pull it off without being goth. Oh, and leave the corset out... Just think Angelina JOlie. She wears black alot.

Plenty of people wear black all the time without looking gothic. No one will think you worship the Prince of Darkness unless you paint your face and wear a shitload of creepy accessories. Needless to say, if you have blond hair and you wear a chunky bead necklace or pink stillettos no one is going to be afraid of you.

What chyou talkin about willis? I am wearing black now.. You just have to make sure you have some color like a shirt with color and black pants or a full black outfit with tan shoes or any color shoes. Also as long as your lipstick isnt black and your eyeliner isnt in excess you should be fine.

wear a black slingy dress or if dresses aren't really you just wear black the only way someone can look goth is by wearing black lipstick and nail polish or crazy clothes combos etc.

Wear it with a bright colored accessory! You don't have to be in all black! But sometimes I like to wear a simple black top and black pants, and then a bright belt. or a scarf. or wild jewelry that you really could wear with a lot of color.

don't wear goth make-up and goth hair. Wear some nice bling with it, but not the chunky chain or a crucifix
