Maybe I should ask a different way... I lost my mucus plug and it was blood tinged but not alot, I have been having backaches and lower pains in my abdomine crotch area. My contractions were about 15 min apart last night and visible on the moniter. I am currently sitting at home in alot of pain and discomfort and I live about 50 miles from the hospital. My mom and my mom in law BOTH say I should have been admitted and that the doctor just wanted to get me out of there. When i had my son, my doctor freaked out when I hit 3 then 4 cm. but this doctor was snotty and told me that it didn't sound too bad. (She doesn't have any kids, I know for a fact.) Its a teaching hospital that I go to, so I have a different doctor everytime.

A mothers intuition is almost never wrong. Go to the hospital and demand that you see another doctor. If they have a problem with that then you speak to whoever is in charge. When i went into labor with my first child i called before going to the hospital. They told me that since I'm able to talk through my contractions then it was only a false alarm. I went anyways and it was a good thing cause I would have ended up having my baby in the car on the way. You need to go and make sure things are alright with your baby.

Again....
doctors would like to wait until the contractions are FIVE MINUTES APART. They are not in the business of admitting patients that dont need to be there. i understand you are scared and frustrated.. ive been there.
15 minutes apart is nothing...I stayed 4 cm with contractions 15 mins apart for almost 2 days! All mothers (and mother in laws) will Always disagree with what the doctor says...that is what they always do!
Why in the world would your hospital be 50 miles away? Does it take you about an hour to get there? Since you get a different doctor every time then it really doesnt matter where you deliver does it? So if for some reason things get hectic call an ambulance and go to the Closest hospital.....
You seriously need to relax, all of those symptoms you listed are NORMAL for this stage of the pregnancy!! The doctors see pregnant people every day..... they know what they are talking about!

No, sorry but you need to be at home. If your first pregnancy had been super fast you would have said so. Visibility doesn't matter. How close the contractions are is what matters. They need to be semi regular and 5-7 minutes before going in. I went in at 5-7 minutes and it still took 6 hours before my son was born. They sent you home because 15 minutes could mean days in the hospital. No point in that. You'll be much more comfortable at home and the bed/ nurses can be used elsewhere. If they kept every woman that had contractions that far apart, there would be no bed space. I know you want that baby out, but its not time yet. Just be patient and keep timing yourself. And drink lots of water, it helps keep away the false contractions. As long as your water hasn't broken, the baby is perfectly safe, mucus plug or no plug.

wow.. this sounds exactly the same as me! I've had the same thing going on, and my contractions are every 7 to ten minutes and they stay like that..... it hurts! it's been since friday! I literally can't sleep at night without tylenol pm! ahhh I'm having one right now. oh and we live far away from the hospital too..

I dont' know what you can do... I heard that blue or black cohosh is prety much an herbal equivilant of pitocin, as it induces contractions, and strong ones, so maybe hang out inthe area with your hubby after out take some and see if you can't get yourself admitted soon!

good luck and hopefully thigns will get moving soon for both of us!

I can't believe they sent you home if you lost your mucus pulg - once that is out, there is a chance of bacteria, etc getting in and causing an infection. I would go back to the hospital - you are in pain and if for no other reason then that, they need to help you out. I am sorry this happened to you, but go back there and demand that they take care of you since you lost your mucus plug. Good luck!

Either go to the hospital and demand to be kept or sit in the waiting room until your water breaks. That's too far to try to go once thing start progress faster.

I say go back to the hospital or go to a different hospital and explain the situation to them as to why you didn't go to the hospital in which your doctor delivers.

You need to go back to that hospitol and tell them that you are not leaving. Technically if you're 3 cm they're suppose to keep you. If they try to send you home let your pregnant attitude come through, throw a fit and tell them that you know you are in labor and if they don't admit you and you end up having your baby on the side of the road b/c you live so far away that you are going to sue them big time exspecially if something happens to you or the baby b/c you didn't have proper equippment for your delivery. Girl you need to let them have it!!!

second births usually go a lot faster, 15mins sounds far apart, you should wait until like 5 or 7 minutes, but given you live 50 mi. from the hospital, I think you should be heading to the hospital
