The reasons for itchy scalp is dandruff. Dandruff is usually caused a fungus called Pityrosporum ovale (P. ovale). While the name may sound intimidating, P. ovale is really a common and naturally occurring yeast-like organism found on the scalp and other parts of human skin.
More reasons for itchy scalp is when they are triggered by certain changes in climate, hormonal or stress levels

Pour apple cider vinegar on the scalp, massage, let dry for a few minutes then wash as normal. Repeat this process every day for a week . vinegar is a natural antiseptic and it has properties that help to thoroughly cleanse the scalp.

If dandruff is associated with the itching, you can try the medicated dandruff shampoo, "Nizoral" If you do not want to use a shampoo, you can releive the itching by using vinegar ( 1-3 spoon full according to hair length on 100-200 cc water, use to rinse after washing your hair, try to get it to the scalp, it softens the hair too, but beware of getting it in your eyes). Change your shampoo and conditioner.

Are you allergic to the ingredients in dandruff shampoos? If you can't use those, then you might want to consider that you have psorisis. (that's not spelled correctly, but I don't know exactly how to spell it!)
Its similar to dandruff of the scalp, but psorisis can be on the scalp, or any other skin part of your body.
They have special ointments for that condition.
But they need a doc's prescription
