Every question I've seen on here about the move "An Inconvenient Truth" gets horrible answers. Instead of addressing the issues in the movie, all anyone seems to do it bash Al Gore. I'm wondering...would it be more accepted if someone else were presenting it?

Yeah, I'm sure if Brad and Angelina got up there and talked about it, everyone would listen!

It is so annoying when people "attack the messenger, instead of the message," because it doesn't provide a substantive argument. I agree that it would be more useful to go over what points in the movie that people do not agree with. When somebody says it is junk science, I want to know the specifics about what is "junk," and without that, the feedback on the movie is useless. I've never seen the movie before, because I haven't decided yet if it's worth it.

Probably. To most people outside of the choir, Al Gore has the credibility of the Easter Bunny.

As for the issues...some of the anecdotal evidence is accurate...some of it is out of context and deliberately deceiving and designed to cause the viewer to reach the producer's desired conclusion. (Propaganda films are common and not inherently evil, by the way. Most commercials, for example, are propaganda.)

Strictly speaking, it's junk science intended to either entertain or mislead. See: http://www.junkscience.com/

Hard to say. I really enjoyed the movie and I'm a republican, but I think people have a hard time separating their emotions when it comes to politics.
Maybe some likeable movie star (Tom Hanks or someone)?
But I think it's good. Because it's a little contrversial, it has people talking, that's for sure!

Possibly. However, there are groups of people that have their beliefs and it doens't really matter who the messenger is. Personally, unless God himself (and I could prove it WAS God) came down and told me that our cars are causing global warming, I wouldn't believe it. I just don't see any real evidence that this is anything but part of a natural cycle.
