I don't know abot the last 50yrs,but one of my all time favourites has to be Captain Blood,starring the boy himself,Errol Flynn(this was made in the 1940's)
followed by Blackbeard the Pirate starring Robert Newton
these films were made before computerised effects etc. all
the stunts were real,I also enjoyed Pirates of The Carribean,The Black Pearl

Definitely Pirates of the Caribean for me. Don't actually think I've seen any others apart from Muppet Treasure Island. Now that's worth a watch.
But Johnny Depp looks very appealing as a pirate......

I got a pirate film of "The Lion King" that was quite good

All pirate films are poor quality, though saw 2 didnt come out to bad, buy the DVD you cheap skate lol

It's got to be Pirates of the Caribbean. Evey one else is probably gonna say the same, it's the last big Hollywood hit and new one is out shortly.
I'm sure and hope it will be as great as the first!!

"Hook." It's a Peter Pan story with Robin Williams as the grown up Pan, but since it centers a lot on Captain Hook, then I'll call it a Pirate Film.

its not exactly a pirate film but it does evolve around a pirate legend. the film " the goonies" one of my favourites since i watched is an 8 year old!!!! the pirate " one eyed willy" scared me to death when u saw he did in fact only have one eye!!
