I was on birth control for a little over a month, then my period started while I was on vaction so I stopped taking my pills & was having unprotected sex with my husband... Can you get pregnant while on your period?

In every brith control pack there is 28 pills. 21 birth control pills and 7 placebos to keep you on track. If you were suppose to be on the placebos which usually are put in so women can get periods then your chances of getting pregnant were probably pretty low.

As unlikely as it may sound yes you can due to a late ovulation, however if you just quit your pill during your period you should be fine, because if you took the pill the month before your period there was no ovulation. That is how birth control pills work, they prevent ovulation.

If it is a "period" then NO you CANNOT get pregnant. A period is when an egg is being broken down and shed out in the form of blood. So how can an egg be fertilized if it's broken down and already started to shed. I think the only way if you had 2 eggs and only one started to break down and cause a period and guess what??? That's almost HIGHLY UNLIKELY to happen.

you can if you ovulate when you have your period - but this is not too common. Most women ovulate about 10 - 14days after their period. But, because you started and stopped the pill, it could happen. Your body has to readjust after to not having the pill in your system. Wait and see if you miss a period....good luck!
