Nope, no law. It is at the descretion of the employer to pay you what they want. There is something called "At will employment" meaning you can quit at anytime (if not under contract) and look for another job.

I am not sure if there is an actual law, but I know that the government in each state plays a part in the raising of minimum wage for each state. Check out this site listed below and see the differences in minimum wage from state to state. You will be surprised.

No there is no law that provides for a cost of living increase. There are companies that include a cost of living increase yearly in an employement contract but that is generally for higher ups and white collar workers, CEO's and the sort. In fact, most increases received do not come close to covering cost of living increases, so unless you are in a management position with a "bonus" perk (and we all know how rotten and unfair they are) you will be lucky to keep up.

Not that I am aware of. It is their choice. YOu can seek higher wages elsewhere. They do have to pay you at least the minimum wage if you are non-exempt employee. When the legislature increases the minimum wage, if you are making only minimum wage, they have to increase it. THat's the only law i know of that is even similar.

NO there is not as long as your being paid at or above min. wage. If you don't like you salary, I suggest you start looking for a new job or a promotion.
