Everybody's talking about his diving experience so much that referees refuse to give him a penalty however he was brought down against the rules twice during the WC (vs Argentina and vs Portugal).

Both Hiddink at PSV and Van Basten at Holland have talked to him about this some time ago and he promised improvements but I guess he's branded for life.

Everytime I watch Match of the Day and he's brought up they talk about nothing else. They trying to ruin him the same way they did with Van Hooijdonk ?

it's simalar to the story of the boy crying wolf. He is such a talent but his diving is so pathetic. I love watching him run past people, he is so creative, then he shows his bad side and when he gets the slightest touch he falls down like he's been shot!
Referee's are sick of it and he has now got the tag of being a cheat. So he'll find it difficult to get a free kick now even if he is fouled unless it's absolutely blatent.

The way he goes down easily makes it difficult for a referee.

Ref's are only human and when they see a player diving , or falling easily alot of the time they are goning to think he did this when maybe they didn't see it well.

Alot like the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"

So unless the ref is 100% then, no, he will not get a penalty.

Can I agree with the other answers well the one`s that say Arjen Robben is a cheat he has only him self to blame if he does not want to play proper football why does he not retire. I know he is not the only one but your question was about only him

Cheats never prosper.

He's alienated himself with the referees he's embarrassed so it would have to be completely obvious before a referee risks awarding him another penalty.

It's a shame such a good player has to resort to such a low life tactic!

The problem with Robben, is that he runs at such a pace, any slight obstruction or touch makes him fall awkwardly and looks worse that it actually it is.

Serves him right for having a reputation as a cheat, I say.
There's nothing worse than a diver, for a start he's hopeless at it and just looks like a wally.

HELL NO!!!! he is a cheating fool and when you think about it he will probably be better off doing diving instead of fooball, he'll definatly get a gold medal for it.
