Questions of their athletic programs and national rankings, in your personal opinion, when you hear Notre Dame, do you think of an elite, top-notch, highly competitive, intellectual, academic university? Why? If you had to sum up in your own words, what is your opinion of Notre Dame's academic reputation?

Notre Dame is a top ranked national university. US news and world report(the most recognized school rankings) has it ranked number 18. The schools listed above ND are mostly Ivory Leagues and MIT, and Johns Hopkins. So they are in very good company. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/natudoc/tier1/t1natudoc_brief.php

Yup -- highly rated school -- but it is in the middle of nowhere. If I wanted to go to a Catholic University, I'd choose Boston College or Georgetown over Notre Dame (even thosugh ND has the slightly better academic reputation).

Notre Dame has a very pretty campus but otherwise the Fighting Irish are a bunch of egotistical, extremely overrated, crybabies.
