my vote would be theme park

Theme park rides are safer. Its something like a million to one chance of getting hurt or killed on a theme park ride then in a car ride. And because a carnival ride is moved a lot, there are more brake downs and screw ups. It cost carnival Co's 40 times more to insure there rides then it does theme park's just because of that fact.

Like most of the other answers my first instinct is to say theme park rides, HOWEVER, I believe I have heard of more accidents occuring at theme parks than at carnivals.

I would have to say theme park rides because carnival rides are tore down and put up a lot which would bring on extra wear and tear on worn out parts.

Theme parks are requiered by law to check every ride before opening them each day, someone must walk every roller coaster, every bolt is checked. SO theme parks are safer as far as potental accidents are concerned. But the shear useage in any given day suggest wear and crowds makes a potental accidents more deadly, as well as size and quanity of people around.

Carinvals are safe, they are requered to have inspections often and cirtifcates to operate, as well as test and checks. They arn't as common as theme parks, but they are smaller, less potental, and well built to withstand the constant tear down and re-builds.

Both are eaquly safe. I would trust any ride, so have fun and enjoy. The goverment takes care to insure safty, as well the operators who don't want a law suit or shut down on there hands. Its in the best intrest of everyone to ensure you safty at all cost.

ones closer the the ground at slow speeds.

Its more the park that is in question. The rides are created to be safe (especially the newer ones) and the older ones are subject to updating per new regulations, the problem lies in the parks ability to test and maintain safe equipment.

You can google the top safest and most unsafe parks. I know kings island in ohio is considered one of the least safe in the nation.

LOL, sorry, i read the question wrong. i HATE whem people do that, and i just did it.

theme parks are safer, by far.

I think theme park rides, because most parks inspect their rides and perform routine maintenance. Not too sure about private carnivals.

carnival rides are constantly taken apart and put back together (a different way each time). Theme park rides are stationary and probably undergo more frequent or reliable inspection

Theme park rides, by far - they have trained staff and engineers who do security checks regularly, and have the money to do it! Plus, if someone died at Disney World because of faulty error, it would be over for that park.

Carnie rides are rickity and travel - made to transport, and not sturdy. I would not doubt there's rust and lower frequency of maintaining it
