Was Mr. Chekhov's hair natural or a hairpiece?

Originally, it was a wig. The producers wanted him to have a hair style similar to some of the British Invasion bands because they thought it would improve their ratings with younger members of the TV audience. Eventually, the actor's hair grew out and he got it cut to match the wig.

Ah yes. But isn't the real question: "Was the Enterprise a natural spacecraft or a hairpiece?"

Just kidding ya. Live long and prosper -- the longer you live the richer I'll be 'cause I'm your friend. Aren't I?

Seriously though, I'd say real. Chekhov was a great character as was the show. If only there'd have been more.

I think he was made to look like Davy Jones of the Monkees. Both shows were on in the 60's.
