It sends a beam to your car and then tracks how long it takes for that beam to come back to the gun. The big problem with radar is it will all ways track the lager vehicles. If there is a semi, it will give the police his speed, and his speed my be faster then yours. Its not that pin point of a device unless you are the only one on the road.

The radar is a ray gun.It shows how many miles a car is going.

It tells the cop how fast you are going. Then he writes you a ticket. He uses a pen to write the ticket, not the radar.

im pretty sure this works by sending out small waves in varying amplitude that hit the object and come back to the radar gun calculating the speed at which they comeback. this gives you your speed.

It gives how fast your going, just like radios you listen too, its sound waves it picks up.
