the men in my family like to leave the toilet seat up. do you care if men do that? it kinda bugs me, bc if i don't look, i could end up in the toilet. any thoughts?

It bothers me. When I was pregnant I ended up in the toilet and it was not a good experience. Men say - well just put the seat down. That does not work when you are pregnant and going for your nightly pee run and you are half asleep, and groping around in the dark. Maybe men should pee sitting down. They have enough trouble hitting the toilet standing up anyway.

I hate when the seat is up. It is bad enough when the lid is up but worse when seat is up. I live in a house with 3 males. When his two kids were younger (8 and 10) I told them I could tolerate the lid up but if I found the seat up as well I was going to lay their p-n-s across the porcelain rim of the bowl and slam both the seat and lid down. They are now 22 and 24 and no one leaves the seat up anymore.

Ahhhh, the age old question! Actually, if I were a woman I would leave the toilet seat up for men because, let's face it, there are men who don't care and leave it down at those moments it needs to be up. I'd prefer to give up that small courtesy in the name of hygiene.

I don't care my man Doesn't do that!
It does bug me but it doesn't happen in my home
I guess I am kind of lucky
You must be Very tiny of you are worried about ending up in the toilet I don't think that can happen?
I have no Doubts that it would be uncomfortable

Yes it bugs me I can......! You need to teach those men the proper way to take care of a toilet set. Put it down.

My wife wanted me to put the seat down, I grew up in a family of brothers and we left the seat up. We compromised that we would put the seat AND the lid down after we were finished.

Just tell them that everything they flush, sprays up into the air and lands on every surface in the bathroom, including their toothbrush. Toilet lids are there for a reason, and it's not just so it looks pretty.

Ok fine, we'll leave it down, and hopefully our aim is good enough to not get on the seat.
How about this, men put it up, women put it down. Its the same as us complaining that women never leave the seat up, so we dont get any pee on the seat.

Its up to the User to make whatever arrangement he or she wants, seat up , seat down, its your job.
You must be young - its a problem as old as the Toilet itself- ha ha

We almost always close the lid at my house, so it's rarely up. I don't ever mind when it is up though because I ALWAYS look. What if there's yucky stuff on the seat?
Why would you not look???
