Since soccer (we call it more realistically, football) is the most viewed sport globally and the FIFA World Cup is bigger than the olympics in audience that makes you and what ever you watch a minority! I wonder why?
32 Nations have participated. It is not just booting a load of goals in that would make the game easy and lessen the skill. The many goal attempts raise the adrenalin of the fans when it could be win or bust for your national team whether the ball goes in the goal or is saved.
Maybe the fact that USA is out now has dampened your spirits, but I think USA did quite good and hope to have the privilage to see them play again in World Cup 2010.
If you think World Cup so bad then go back to baseball where nobody much internationally plays it.
My wife who is american has become quite fond of the beautiful game of football because of the World Cup.

You need to eat a giant, fat, black-dude dong! People in this country certainly care if they are intelligent enough to appreciate the intricacies of such a beautiful game! Even though we are eliminated (as we so rightfully deserved for such a disgraceful performance)there is still much soccer to be played by great teams, and even if you can't appreciate what's happening on the field, one should strive to appreciate the pageantry of the fans and the way that this game brings people together like no other sport in the world... you name it, baseball, american football, basketball, hockey... these pale in comparison to the beautiful game!

l like the world cup, I dont get to see league games though. So when the world cup comes around, I love to see it. I love soccer and I like other sports as well. Im just overall a sports nut. but when americans call people stupid for watching, they just look like the most ignorant people on earth. Cmon american sports suck to people out of america!

There are fans of sport in every country, probably. Even Iceland and Botswana. So to answer your question, I think there are plenty of people in the USA who give a crap about the World Cup, yes. I am one of them.

Well I am American, and I would have to say that futbol(soccer like your gringos call it) is one of THEE best sports out there, it takes a REAL person to know the sport and it takes an EVEN BETTER PERSON to like it....so since yall are not inot this sport why don't yall go watch bug mates on discovery channel and let us REAL people talk about our favy sport!!

A lot of people do like to watch the World Cup. (and i am one of them). If u don't like it then go watch some other sport, no one is forcing you to watch or like soccer.

Boring Boring Boring Boring Boring Boring . 2 hours of sprinting around. I hate watching sychronized swimming but at least that is not half as boring.
