If I decide to wear a tampon, wud I need a liner on my bathing suit? I just can't trust them... It seems like they always leak.

Hmmm... I Never thought it'd actually come off... I just don't want a stained bathingsuit.

Hmmm I like the heavy duty comment... Very true, would Tampax Pearl count?

I have always used the OB. They now have an ultimate protection which can be a bit difficult to insert. (The no applicator Tampon swell-up round so it won't hang out.)
If you expect to be in your suit for a long time time prior to swimming or are not going in the water you can use a Light protection Serenity pad. (The ones for bladder protection. Thin as a panty liner with more absorption.) Then just before you go in the water. Go to the bathroom and throw away the liner and use a fresh tampon.

If you feel uncertain about using a tampon this will help until you know if you can count on the protection for the next time.

God Bless You, ;-)

Good answers. OB is by far the best brand if you have to use a tampon. A liner is unsanitary for use in a pool. If something is leaking out. it will be in the water. The liner will absorb the water and eventually come out. The best advice is to use a fresh tampon when you change into your suit and make sure it is inserted properly. If you find your flow is still leaking, you should not be in the water because that is too much to put on others who are in the water, too. Wait a few days before going in and do as suggested. If you still have a problem, you should consult your doctor.

A liner in your bathing suit would be WAY more embarassing than a leak my friend. That would fall out in a heart beat. Try a more "dependable" tampon. As in heavy duty, hard core, heavy flow, not made for teenage girl tampons. Don't go for the pretty box! Maybe you are putting them in correctly. When inserted correctly and changed at the correct intervals, they should never leak. Switch up from the teeny tampons and go swimming with confidence!

Just make sure to use a new tampon prior to swimming and maybe a super or super plus would also lesson the risk of it leaking out. I have never felt the need to use a liner, and I've never ran into any problems with leakage. Periodically go to the restroom and check while you are swimming if that will make you feel better. Good Luck!

My experience has been that the best tampon for swimming and anytime you are concerned about leaking like gym class is the OB brand. They are kind of weird to get used to but really fit the best once you figure out how to insert as they don't have an applicator other than your finger, which is why they fit the best. NO on the liner idea everyone has already said it...it will float out and how awful would that be!?

Just like everyone else has said. If you were a liner while you are swimming it is going to get wet. Not once has my tampon leaked when I was in the water. The water seems to make the bleeding stop temporarly.

It is unlikely, if the tampon is inserted correctly that you will leak and stain your swim wear but like underwear if it happens just soak in a solution of amonia and water and it washes straight out. If you are still leaking with a tampon, you may need to change it more frequently or one with better absorbency.

If you use a liner, chances are it will come off and that would be extremely embarrassing.

I wear tampons and never once had a leak. Do you put it in right?

A liner inside your bath suit will protect to leak and make the water dirt. But, please better to avoid for swimming in those days.
