It's a cute little upholstered chair with a distinct sprung spring in the middle back; I'd like to repair the thing.

Best option is to take the loveseat to an upholstry shop and have them at least redo the spring section. I would also have them install the webbing. You will then be ready to put new fabric on the loveseat yourself.

Good luck with your project.

Your Upholstered chair needs some TLC! You will have to remove the covering in order to fix it correctly or it will pop out again. Well worth saving as Hand-Tied Springs are no longer used these days....
The fabric that you remove will probably have to be replaced. It will be damaged during removing, plus it would be to small to work with as an replacement piece. Best bet is to take it to an Upholstery Shop or pick up an "how-to" book at your local fabric store. Just buying the correct tools to do the job would be more than having it re-upholstered. Upholstering is a lost trade, so welcome to the "Art" or support your local Shop....

You'll probably have to take off the covering to get to the spring.
