Ok, so here's another one:

Tell me about yourself?

What can you say without sounding too corny or too perfect?

This interview questions is loaded:
(1) the interview wanted to know if you have a career plan for yourself, or a career with the organization you are apply for
(2) the question is left open to see if you talk too much or are introverted about personal ambitions
(3) the objective is unclear as it is not really job-related, since the questions should focus on how well you can perform at the new job rather than what is going to happen 5 years hence.

A good answer needs to meet these criteria:
(1) choose to remain at the job and seek advancement within the organization
(2) permit yourself to long-term continuous learning for increased effectiveness as a team member
(3) match personal values in building effective business relationships - set up morality standards, seek mentors, set stretched goals, and have lots of fun at work.

Hopefully you are interviewing at a job where you see yourself continuing to work and move up. So if you are interviewing for an entry level job, you might say that in 5-10 years you see yourself at another level, or if you have not finished school, or if you have a Bachelors' in business, maybe pursuing a Master's. The purpose of that question is to learn more about your goals and whether you have ambitions for yourself.

Well, in the next 5 or 10 years what would you like to have accomplished? Do you want to be married? Have a really great career? Kids? Do you want an apartment in the city, a house in the country or do you wan to still be living with your parents? Once you know the answers this question will not stump you.

To quote Mitch Hedburg:

"Celebrating the 5 year anniversary of you asking me this question."

And the real answer is all dependent on you. Where DO you see yourself in 5 years? Are you married? Do you have kids? Are you focusing on your career? Do you want to be in a higher position within the company you want to work for? Are you travelling? Just give the question some thought at home and have your answer prepared for the interview.

:) Good luck!

If it's an interview for a job at a company then answer the position ahead of the one you're interviewing for, still at the same company. And add some things about settling down with family and continuing to advance yourself within the same company for years to come. Employers like employee loyalty, and it shows commitment to the job and maturity on your part.

Well, you're probably going to be starting as the "low man on the totem pole" If you'd like to be a manager or assistant manager, tell the interviewer that you'd see yourself as an assistant manager in 5 years and in 10 year as a manager.

Me too! I feel like if I say well I am happy with my life right here and now and in this job. I think when ppl say doing your job to the interviewer it is pretenious.

Just answer honest...say working at this job, finishing my degree or whatever..married...honesty is best.

That's a pretty unfair question for a prospective employer to ask. I have always stuck with the "no one can predict the future, but hopefully still maintaining a professional relatioinship with you and your company" kind of response....

Furthering my career with your company if given the opportunity. and if they ask if you if you are planning on being there for a why just say "I am in it for the long haul"

This has worked for me on every job interview I have ever been on.
