i draw them myself and i make original plotlines i was wondering how i could post them online without breaking any copyright laws (my dream has always been to be an animator for Williams street, the people who make athf)

Just scan them, I dont think you'll get sued.

For the most part, comics, catoons, etc. have allowed "fan art". As it helps to build interest (and sales), must companies do not object. Unless you were to begin charging for the artwork or site access, or where to produce material that was offensive, obscene, etc that could damage the company's reputation. Or if you were to post material they made without permission.

If they were to object, you would normally receiving a politely worded "lawyer's letter" asking you to remove the material. At the point, you remove the material and everything is cool.

if you have a scanner you could put them on myspace. you would save them to your pictures and then upload them to your myspace web address. you could make a web address for myspace and have your own web site. I would look at them because i love athf too. i think carl is my favorite.

Buy the rights to the characters.

If that doesn't work - talk to the owner of the characters, they may get a kick out of it.
