What were your reactions when you first heard the "Paul is dead" reports? Did you start reading all the "clues" or start playing your records backwards ? Those who were around during this time, will know what I'm referring, to. For you younger ones, instead of replying with a "nope" or an answer that reveals NOTHING, why not sit back and read some of the answers from people who actually remember all of this." One, two, three, four!" Do you remember what song of the Beatles that was heard on?

I was just a tender young Beatles fan when all this "Paul McCartney is dead" stuff came about, so I didn't get all into it quite as much as my older friends, but I did get into it.

Yep...I saw clues where there may not have been any, and I played my Beatles albums backwards, and heard every single one of the eery things that everybody else heard. ("I buried Paul" STILL gives me chills)

There were two albums that had a great impact on me, during that time.

One is the Abby Road album, which shows what looks like a funeral procession, with John leading as the funeral director, then Ringo as the Preacher, followed by Paul, and George as the Grave Digger. In this procession, Paul is wearing a suit and barefoot, which is how people are buried. He is leading with his right leg...opposite of the other three, and he is holding a cigarette in his right hand, which would be weird for a left handed person to do.

The other album is Sgt Pepper, which has way too many clues to tell here, but a few of them are...On the front of the album, both the "old Beatles" and the "new Beatles" are standing in front of a grave, along with many other people both dead and alive. Paul is holding an instrument that is black and raised to his shoulder, unlike the other three whose instruments are bronze and held in the crook of their arms. There is a hand raised over Paul's head, suggesting a blessing. There is a left handed bass guitar made of flowers that, if you have smoked a joint, definately spells Paul. There is a small car, with a red interior indicating a blood soaked wreck. On the inside of the album cover, Paul wears a shoulder patch that says O.P.D., which, in British means "Officially Pronounced Dead". He has his knees raised to his chest with his arms wrapped around them, as in a fetal position. On the back of this album cover, John, George and Ringo are facing the camera, but Paul's back is to the camera, and he is higher than the other three.

THe first song on Sgt Pepper introduces "the one and only Billy Shears", who supposedly was William Campbell, the winner in a Paul McCartney look-alike contest. The second song on Sgt Pepper is "With A Little Help From My Friends", which asks "what would you do if I sang out of tune...would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears, and I'll sing you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key" There are other songs on this album that supposedly tell the real story, such as "A Day In The Life" which talks about a horrible car crash, and "Lovely Rita", who supposedly was the cause of the wreck that killed Paul.

Twenty years ago, I was working at a radio station, and my boss was the DeeJay that did the "Oldies" show. She was also a huge Beatles fan. She researched this rumor, and produced a six hour show, and played it on the anniversary of the start of this rumour. I mean, there are songs played backwards, interviews, clues, all kinds of stuff. On my birthday, knowing I was a huge Beatles freak myself, she gave me a copy of this entire show.
I'm a lucky gal, indeed!

It amazes me that after thirty years, people still talk about this, and wonder.....

oh...and it's..

"One, two, three, four...
all good children go to heaven...
one, two, three, four...five, six, seven...."
from "You Never Give Me Your Money"

The "one, two, three, four" was from the beginning of I Saw Her Standing There, and also in You Never Give Me Your Money.
My mom was a teen at the height of Beatles Mania and when she gave me her vinyl collection she told me about the "Paul is dead" thing. I played every record backwards.

I'm seeing the clues as the Beatles trying to remember that they're the Beatles!I suspect that John attended Paul's funeral and found that he wasn't dead."Turn me on deadman".See the link below. Is that the Beatles or is it---
