RONALDO HAS BEEN AWFUL OMG. BALLACK HAS BEEN GREAT, KLOSE HAS BEEN GREAT, THORSTEN FRINGS, KAKA HAS BEEN GOOD, BUT I WOULD SAY FERNANDO TORRES OF SPAIN. HE HAS BEEN GREAT OR MAYBE XAVI OR EVEN FIGO HAS BEEN GOOD FOR PORTUGAL. OH AND MAXI RODRIGUES OF ARGENTINA AND RIQUELME OF COURSE AND CRESPO. GOD THERES A LOT TO CHOOSE. I'D SAY BALLACK OR RIQUELME

when u say so far, if you mean so far since the world cup originally started, then there are so many greats from pele to maradona. But if you mean so far in this world cup then thats a different story. In my view no individual stars have actually stood out, as most of the big teams have failed to show their true talent. But a few players have showed glimpses of potential, Klose has proved he can put a few in the back of the net, and Ballack has proved that he can have a quiet game yet have such an impact (if you look at his stats of completed passes!). Torres has also looked to be a huge threat! But if you ask me i belive that the best is yet to come! Now that only the giants remain, more skill is going to come out, and hopefully were going to see what the likes of Ronaldinho, Rooney, Kaka, Requilme, Torres can really do!!

Honestly, I know not many may agree with me, but I think Maxi Rodriguez of Argentina has been the most outstanding player of the tournament so far. He is nearly as creative as Riquelme in that midfield and has been involved in nearly every goal that Argentina have scored in this World Cup. He is also a tireless runner, going up and down all game, even playing solid defense when called upon. In addition, his late winner against Mexico will probably go down as the goal of the tournament, I still get chills just thinking about it!

Brazil's striker Ronaldo would have to be. I personally love Germany but I have to say Ronaldo is. He has just set a world-record of 15 goals in World Cup history(not all this year). His footwork is amazing...his fakes are nice and smooth and he controls the field when he's on it.

No one has shined through yet. There's many good ones, i'll give u that, but there's not 1 single player who out dones them all. Im waiting for the semis, thats when the real talent will come out.

A few of the Argentinians have been awesome, I think Lionel Messi is a flat-out beast when he gets minutes, but it's hard to argue against Klose or Podolski.
